Food is a Source of Energy


This is one of the places I visited in my village, namely "Warung Ibu Kasiatun" in "Dusun Pakunden" in Sukorejo, East Java Indonesia.

Food is one of the things that must be in our life. Without food, we may not be able to live because of lack of nutritional intake. Food can also be linked to the SDGs. Because by eating all of us will not experience hunger and our nutritional needs can be fulfilled so that our bodies become healthy and strong.Then in this shop, Ibu Kasiatun sells a lot of vegetables and cooking spices and staples such as sugar.  Wheat flour, noodles, etc.  Housewives always shop for vegetables at this shop to cook food in their daily lives.



" Carrot "

Carrots are a popular orange vegetable, due to their delicious taste and abundant benefits of carrots. Carrots can be eaten raw, boiled or fried, made into juice, or in a pudding mix.

The benefits of carrots are obtained from the beta-carotene content in them, which is useful as an antioxidant. Apart from beta-carotene, the benefits of carrots are also obtained from the fiber, vitamin K, and potassium content. Carrots contain dietary fiber which can improve digestive tract conditions such as diarrhea or constipation. The most abundant content in carrots is water and carbohydrates. Carrots contain little fat and protein, but are rich in vitamins. One of them is vitamin A in the form of beta carotene.


" Tempe "

"Tempe" is a typical Indonesian food that comes from fermented soybeans.  There are many nutrients found in tempe.  Tempe has a high protein content of vitamins and minerals.  Their creamy texture makes them a great substitute for meat products in the vegetarian world.


" Bayam ( Spinach ) "

Spinach can be plantedSpinach (Spinach) is a plant commonly grown for consumption by its leaves as fresh vegetables. 

Spinach can be planted throughout the year both in the lowlands and in the highlands, it can also be planted in the garden area or the yard of the house.This plant is known as a vegetable source of iron which is important for the body.The iron content in spinach is relatively higher than other leaf vegetables, so it is beneficial for people with anemia. Spinach is one of the most popular vegetables. Usually, spinach can also be added with corn to it.


" Tomato "

Tomato are short life cycle plants, can grow 1 to 3 meters tall.  This plant has green, yellow, and red fruits which are commonly used as vegetables in cooking or eaten directly without being processed.

Tomatoes contain antioxidants in the form of lycopene which can help combat the effects of cancer-causing free radicals.  Tomatoes also contain other antioxidants, namely polyphenols, naringenin, and chlorogenic acid.  In addition, it turns out that tomatoes are low in calories and fat, but rich in carotenoids, lutein, sugar, vitamin A, vitamin C, folate, and potassium.

" Corn "

Corn (Zea mays ssp. Mays) is one of the most important carbohydrate-producing food crops in the world, apart from wheat and rice. Corn seeds are rich in carbohydrates. 

Corn grain is used as animal feed, both for poultry and large livestock. The biggest uptake in Indonesia now is as a source of animal feed.  Processed grains are also absorbed in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical industries.

" Cucumber "

Cucumber is a plant that produces edible fruit.  The fruit is usually harvested when it is not properly ripe to be used as a vegetable or freshener, depending on the type.  Cucumbers can be found in a variety of dishes from around the world and have enough water in them for their soothing properties.  Cucumber slices are also used to help moisturize the face and are widely believed to reduce high blood pressure. The ascorbic acid and caffeic acid present in cucumber can decrease the water retention rate, which in turn reduces the swelling around the eyes.

" Onion and Garlic "

Garlic and red are used as spices that are used in almost every food and Indonesian cuisine. Before being used as a spice, crushed garlic and onion by pressing with the side of a knife (crushed) before finely chopped and sauteed in a frying pan with a little cooking oil.

" Kale "

Kale is a type of vegetable that grows on land and water and can be consumed.  This vegetable has a distinctive shape with a hollow green stem and an elongated leaf shape.  These vegetables have a high enough nutritional content that is beneficial for the health of the human body.  Besides tasting delicious, it also contains vitamins A, B, and C, amino acids, phosphorus, iron, sitosterol, and carotene.
